Ljósá (Settlement)

The outlying village of Ljósá, locally also called Gimbrarnar after the outfield where the first emigrants settled, was established around 1840. The village, which today has 36 inhabitants, has a sandblasting workshop and a restaurant in the old Brethren congregation’s meeting house, Bet-Kar.
